MARS at the Metrology Pitches – does AI truly improve measurement system performance

Our project coordinator Mohamed El Mansori (ENSAM) shared insights from our MARS project during the Metrology Pitch Zone session on 1 April 2026. At Global Industrie 2026, the Collège Français de Métrologie (CFM) sparked a timely debate: does AI truly improve measurement system performance – or not?

MARS partners connect with industry

Beyond the stage, the event was all about real conversations for MARS – exploring interest from potential first adopters and what industry needs to see before testing the MARS platform in practice. The MARS vision and progress was discussed with interested visitors at the ENSAM and STIL booths that were present at Global Industrie 2026.

MARS vision – flexible manufacturing for the future

The vision of MARS is to revolutionise the manufacturing industry by introducing extreme flexibility without compromising product requirements, quality, or sustainability. MARS aims to achieve this by leveraging advanced technologies such as Artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud and edge computing to create a highly adaptable and dynamic manufacturing environment. The project seeks to enable manufacturers to respond to changes quickly and efficiently in demand and supply, thereby improving their competitiveness and productivity.

Global Industry 2026 was a showcase and a place to meet and do business for people from diverse industries. Exhibitors from different industries were present at the conference such as: Automation, Digitalization & AI, Energy, Environment, Processes, and Services. In 2026, more than 700 speakers took the stage.
