AMiMO Cluster at IFAC INCOM 2024

Group of five Manufacturing researchers of the AMiMO Cluster: one woman and four men (three of them wear glasses). They all have blue ticket holders around their necks and are smiling into the camera. In the background there are three people standing on a podium but they are blurred out. At the top left there is the MARS logo and the MODAPTO logo, both projects funded by the EU under the same call category. They are also members of the AMiMO Cluster.

At the recent INCOM2024 conference, Dennis Gross from Simula, representing the MARS project, had the opportunity to meet with the coordinator and professors from the MODAPTO project. Both projects are part of the AMiMO cluster, and their interaction highlighted the potential for exciting future collaboration.

Discussing future cooperations

During a 20-minute meeting, the two groups introduced themselves and discussed several ideas for working together. One key proposal was the organization of a workshop designed specifically for Postdocs and PhD students, offering a platform for young researchers to share knowledge and engage with leading experts in the field. They also considered creating a special session for a future conference, where topics of interest to both projects could be further explored.

Interesting topics at the INCOM 2024

INCOM2024 itself provided valuable insights into the integration of AI with manufacturing, a central theme for both MARS and MODAPTO. The conference offered a rich environment for exchanging ideas, and the enjoyable gala dinner added a relaxed opportunity for networking. The meeting marked the beginning of what promises to be a fruitful collaboration within the AMiMO cluster.
